I can't believe there was such a player in Korea…20.7 Billion Contracts At Bargain, ML Trade Hot Sells

pitcher Eric Peddy (31) of the Chicago White Sox, who returned to the Major League after winning the MVP title in the KBO League last year, has emerged as a hot seller in the trade market in July. He has greatly enhanced the value of his trade by performing well enough to make a two-year, 15-million-dollar FA contract at a bargain price. 메이저사이트

Peddy started the game against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio, on the 4th (Korea time), blocked them with three hits, three walks, three strikeouts and one run in six innings, and led the White Sox to an 8-2 victory. It was his sixth win (three losses) of the season.

Peddy silenced Cleveland batters, a strong team that is leading the American League Central. Despite repeated situations with runners on the first and second bases with two outs in succession at the first and second innings, Peddy lost for the first time through a sacrifice fly in the third inning, but managed to secure three consecutive three-out innings in the fourth and sixth innings. With a total of 91 pitches, he pitched four pitches: 54 strikes and 37 balls. He pitched cutters (32), sinkers (26), changeups (23), and sweeper (10). The sinker's maximum speed is 94.6 miles (152.2 kilometers) per hour.

So far, Peddy has pitched 106 ⅓ innings in 18 games this season, recording 6 wins and 3 losses with a 3.13 strikeout and 94 ERA. Peddy, who ranks sixth in AL innings and 10th in ERA, is struggling as a starting pitcher and one-two punch for the weakest team along with left-hander Garrett Crochet (6-6, 3.02 ERA in 18 games and 101 ⅓ innings).

Pedi and Crochet have emerged as the biggest sellers, with the White Sox expected to sell their main players ahead of the trade deadline on the 31st, with 25 wins and 63 losses (win percentage .284) this season, the worst among all 30 clubs. "MLB.com " also mentioned Crochet and Pedi as the top two players according to fWAR standards, citing 13 starting pitchers to be on the trade market on the 4th.

Regarding Pedi, MLB.com said, "The White Sox, who signed Pedi for two years and $15 million in the winter, expected their performance in Korea to work even when they returned to the Major League last year. Pedi proved this with an ERA of 3.23 in his first 17 starts, but he emerged as a strong candidate for trade this summer as the White Sox started rebuilding."

"Peddy will receive 7.5 million U.S. dollars in salary this season and next season. Peddy can be an affordable option for a team that wants to strengthen its position in the starting rotation," he said, stressing that his remaining salary is also relatively low compared to his current value. This means that his two-year, 15-million-dollar contract, which he won based on his stellar performance in Korea last year, is at a bargain price for the first time in half a season.

MLB.com described 13 players along with Peddy and Crochet, including Jack Flaherty (Detroit Tigers), Chris Bashit, Yusei Kikuchi (Toronto Blue Jays), Jack Epplin (Tampa Bay Rays), Max Scherzer, Nathan Ivoldi (Texas Rangers), Tyler Anderson (LA Angels), Frankie Montas (Cincinnati Reds), Carl Quantryl (Colorado Rockies), Jesus Luzardo (Miami Marlins), and FA Trevor Bauer as starting pitchers in the summer market, explaining that Cleveland, San Diego Padres, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, and Arizona Diamondbacks will be buyers in the starting market.

With trade rumors continuing, the deadline is less than a month away. Peddy's mind is also complicated. After winning the game against Cleveland on Monday, he said, "I feel like trade talks surround the team. I can't avoid it, but I'm so happy here. Whatever happens, I'll do what I have to do. I'll pay attention to every game," expressing his desire to stay with the White Sox, who gave him a chance to return.
